One
of these Jeepney drivers is none other than Lifestyles distributor
Lany Mangalindan who joined Lifestyles in June 1999.
"Before
joining Lifestyles, our lives were like most Filipinos.
There is nothing unique about us. We work hard just to
have enough food to put on the table - luxuries were not
an option. My day started at 5:00 am and did not finish
until 9:00 pm. While I was doing this, my wife was raising
pigs. Working and living like this; we had many financial
problems as well as our fair share of health problems.
Before Lifestyles, I was earning PHP 140.00 per day (about
$3 US ). Not only did I have high blood pressure, our
son was suffering from asthma."
Lany's
life has changed beyond all recognition because of Lifestyles.
He has purchased his second Jeepney and bought a Pajero
(jeep) for his family. Looking back at his life, and his
first job where he earned PHP 80.00 per day ( $1.50 US )
working for a lottery, Lany says he is amazed at how far
he has come.
"I
feel so young again. No more coughing, normal blood pressure
and my son is okay. I feel like a teenager. I love this
business so much. I cried when I received my big cheque
from Lifestyles for PHP 90.000. I know that I will soon
become a millionaire - I believe it."
